"Rekers and Schumm argued that lawmakers were justified in excluding gay people from adoption because research shows that they are at greater risk of developing a host of impairments that can harm children, such as mental illness, alcohol or drug abuse, and the virus that causes AIDS... Gay men and lesbians have two to four times the likelihood of suffering from major depression, anxiety or substance abuse, based on several national studies, Rekers testified. Huckabee Book Tour in 8 Florida Cities
Governor Mike Huckabee's new book is called "Do The Right Thing" and he will be doing a book tour and signing books in eight cities across Florida in December including Orlando, Tampa, Brandon, Southwest Ranches, Sarasota, The Villages, Pensacola and Panama City. The Florida Family Policy Council was one of the first conservative organizations to bring Governor Huckabee to Florida for our Annual Awards dinner in 2006. Fireproof is Still In Florida Theatres - See "One of the Most Important Christian Movies Ever Produced"

Republican Governors Meet in Miami to Discuss Future of GOP- Palin and Crist Differ Sharply
"Republicans gathered last week to talk about what went wrong in the Nov. 4 election and how to fix it, and the two highest-profile leaders - Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin- offered sharply different recipes for a comeback...Crist's message: Racial inclusiveness, bipartisanship and civility offer the clearest path for the GOP's road to recovery....Palin put forward a harder line: Tough adherence to the party's ideological principles....Republicans, she said, should start on the road back by dogging the Obama administration and Democratic Congress on taxes, health care and energy, making no concessions.
